Career Information Links
There are now hundreds (if not thousands) of web sites focused on job listings, careers, personality, and listings of universities. Listed below are a few sites that may be helpful in some way. If you come across career related web sites that may help other students, please email us the url/link (scc@uidaho.edu).
- What Color Is Your Parachute?
Here you will find up-to-date information about which sites Dick Bolles thinks are most helpful, from among the multitude of resources on the Internet, with links to take you directly to those sites, if you choose. The Guide is free, presented as part of a service to job-hunters and career- changers all over the world.
- Career Paths Online
An interactive career resource that helps you to make relevant and informed career and education plans.
- The CareerBuilder Network
Whether you're looking for a job or looking to hire, CareerBuilder should be on your list. As with most career sites, posting a résumé or searching the nationwide listings won't cost you a dime - and while the database isn't the biggest around, the search tools are among the best.
- The Monster Board
As the name suggests, The Monster Board is the 900-pound gorilla of career sites, with 50,000 nationwide job listings, plus a résumé database and sundry other delights. As with most career sites, it's free for job-seekers, but costs for employers or recruiters.
- U.S., Canadian, and Worldwide listing of universities
A great listing of universities, with links to their home pages.
